The Senate Is Crucial To Jobs And Growth or Why The Constitution Matters!

the Constitution - the Foundation of our political system - why the Senate is key!

The Constitution, the supreme law of the land, charges the Senate with vetting and approving federal appointees including the lifetime appointments of Supreme Court Justices. It is up to the Senators to hold hearings and vote on the character and fitness of each nominee prior to approving or disapproving them for office. In light of their tenure and the fact that the Supreme Court has the final word in the interpretation of the law, the deliberation process is crucial to assuring government of the people, by the people and for the people. This singular blessing from God is under attack and every Christian is called to defend it. Without Due Diligence the Senate could abolish our liberties by ignoring the Constitution. It is possible, through stacking the court with liberal justices, that the Constitution could be twisted to mean anything the liberals want. It might even be made null and void. It could establish the government as the source of individual rights. Then our government would be blessed by man, not God. I don’t know about you, but that thought scares me.

It has been more than three years since the Senate proposed a national budget. The Senator’s jobs require them to submit a budget annually and to make the choices (hard or easy) that are required to negotiate a consensus with the House of Representatives. They failed to do their jobs because it was easier to turn their backs on their duty than to convince the Representatives that they should abandon their constituents and throw away their principles by voting to bankrupt the nation.

The Senate abandoned it’s Constitutional role as check and balance on the President’s authority. It watches glibly when he sets up Czar after Czar with no oversight by any group or entity other than the administration and virtually unlimited authority to, in effect, write laws without legislative deliberation or vote. The president extends his power and promotes his socialist agenda by bypassing the Congress altogether. He proudly proclaims that’ if Congress won’t act, I will’ even if it means establishing a dictatorship by destroying the republic, and what better place to destroy the republic from than the presidency?  Especially at a time when he thinks all the people are asleep.

We need a Senate that knows it’s authority comes from the people and exists for the people and a president who understands his Constitutional role as administrator and Commander-in-Chief, not dictator. Many in the Senate and the Administration have abandoned those very fundamental principles of the republic. We must remind them at the ballot box or we may quickly lose the blessings that our ancestors fought and died to establish and protect. Please check and verify whether your representatives in Congress supported or attacked the Constitution and the Family. You can get the records and analysis by going to www.frc.org and clicking on Voter Tools on the right sidebar. After checking the records be sure to check out the candidates and vote for people that support the Constitution and the family as important foundation stones of our government and our society.

About the Author: I grew up in the the sixties with the Hippies and the flower children. It was an age of innocence but it was also charged with hatred and anger. It was a time when there were no limits at all to what a person could achieve. It made no difference what color their skin was, where in the world their ancestors came from, or what religion they subscribed to. Every single person could rise as far as their God given gifts and talents could take them. And God's gifts were always far beyond the capacity of humanity to comprehend. I write about the things that shape our world and our lives from that perspective and bring truth, compassion and hope to a world that seems lost. I write from years of experience about lessons I have learned, those lessons that I wish I had learned sooner and the essential truths I have proven.
